Peaceful Kids Program

‘Peaceful Kids’ is a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based program to lessen anxiety and stress and increase resilience in children Prep – Year 12. The program gives children the skills, practice and support to utilize coping strategies that lessen the symptoms of anxiety and stress.  The program also involves parental involvement and commitment to supporting the strategies at home.

The Peaceful Kids program is endorsed by the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards (BOSTES) and Beyond Blue-Be You. It is an evidence based program and all of the strategies in the program are based on evidence-based research from Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program (MBSR), Mindfulness-integrated Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MiBCT), Positive Psychology and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. ​

Outcomes of the Peaceful Kids program:

  • Lessen symptoms of anxiety and stress in children
  • Teaches children to self-calm
  • Empowers children to manage their own anxiety
  • Develops emotional intelligence skills
  • Teaches children life-long skills to manage stress and prevent stress build up
  • Supports children so they know that they are not alone with suffering from anxiety

Peaceful Kids program structure:

  • Peaceful Kids is an 8 week program for children
  • Sessions are for approximately 1 hour each week
  • Sessions include learning a range of mindfulness strategies and meditations and positive psychology exercises.
  • Students are guided through meditations daily online via the Peaceful Kids website:  peacefulkids.com.au

Peaceful Classrooms Program

The 10-week Mindfulness Program brings weekly 45-60 minute lessons into the classroom or community group. Children learn essential Mindfulness skills to reduce stress, improve attention and improve emotional intelligence. Every session includes a Mindful Movement and ends with a guided Mindfulness practice.  

Outcomes of the Peaceful Classrooms program:

  • To help children develop a regular Mindfulness practice
  • Lessen symptoms of anxiety and stress in children
  • Teaches children to self-calm 
  • Develops emotional intelligence skills
  • Teaches children life-long skills to manage stress and prevent stress build up

Program structure:

  • 10 Core lessons delivered to children over 10 weeks.
  • Sessions are for approximately 1 hour each week. (40-50 minutes for Prep and Year 1’s)
  • Sessions include learning a range of mindfulness strategies, Mindfulness Meditations and Positive Psychology exercises.
